Hassell a coach-in-waiting

ABSENT Red Cliffs coach Ash Connick believes senior assistant Tim Hassell has senior coaching potential.

Hassell took the reigns for Saturday night’s SFNL loss to Mildura while Connick is in Perth with son Caleb, who is in action at the Australian Under 16 Junior Basketball Championships.

Dual SFNL premiership coach (Wentworth 2001 and Mildura 2007) and previous Sunraysia interleague mentor Connick said Hassell – who took the Tigers for pre-season before Connick’s appointment as senior coach of Red Cliffs – could immediately step in and take charge of his own outfit.
