Yesterday More Trying Than Thursday

The heat yesterday throughout Sunraysia was sufficiently enervating to interfere with harvesting on the vine blocks and with business in the towns. 

The day in Mildura must have been a replica of the previous day in Melbourne.

There was a little sluggish wind from the west, but the air generally was dead; and humanity found the conditions more trying than those of the previous day. 

Neverthless every man expected his wife to have dinner at the appointed hour, and if he did not do justice to it the most likely explanation was that he was already fully loaded.
