VOTES continue to be counted for the NSW seat of Murray, as Independent Helen Dalton extends her margin over The Nationals.
More than 77 per cent of the vote had been counted as of 5pm, Thursday.
Since 11pm on election night, 16,232 additional votes have been sorted.
More than 1000 votes were received from the Griffith Uniting Church and Yenda Public School voting booths, and over 15 thousand votes from early voting centres were processed.
The voting trend has continued, with Mrs Dalton receiving more first preferences than any other candidate in the Griffith and Yenda voting booths, and at early voting centres in Deniliquin, Moama, and Griffith.
At this stage, the only voting booths that favoured Nationals candidate Peta Betts over Mrs Dalton were Coleambally School, and Euston Public School.
The seat has swung 13.4 per cent towards the Independent, with Mrs Dalton receiving 51.1 per cent of the first preference votes so far.
She is ahead 66.3 per cent to 33.7 per cent on a two party preferred basis.
