MEMBER for Mildura Ali Cupper says she is looking forward to working with new Mildura Mayor Jason Modica and Deputy Mayor Helen Healy.
The trio are politically aligned, progressive and promise to kick plenty of goals for the region.
“It’s great, it’s exciting,” Ms Cupper said of the make-up of the new council, in which three of the nine councillors are women.
“I am very interested in the council, where I was involved for six years and loved every minute of it.
“It is a true honour to represent the community at that most grassroots level. I wish Jake, Helen and all the other councillors the very best.
“Their success is our success as a community.”
Ms Cupper said it was “in the best interests of the community” for her to work closely with the council.
“That’s my job,” she said.
“At the end of the day, the one common thing we all have is passion for the community.”
Cr Modica said he was looking forward to having a “good working relationship” with Ms Cupper for the benefit of the local community.
