WENTWORTH Preschool will benefit from more than $279,000 in Federal Government funding for it to include a long day-care facility.
Successful applicants under round 4 of the Building Better Regions Fund were announced on Thursday.
Wentworth Shire Council was listed as the proponent for the funding, with the refurbishment of the preschool said to allow for a capacity of up to 57 children.
The total project cost was listed as $558,117.
Member for Farrer Sussan Ley said $8.84 million of the latest $207 million round of the program was being spent in her electorate.
“These game-changing projects will help ensure our region remains vibrant and strong and I know this announcement will boost both morale and prosperity after a really tough few years for many people across Farrer,” Ms Ley said.
In Mallee, more than $4.2 million was spread across projects that included $111,957 for an Ouyen Livestock Exchange infrastructure upgrade project.
Projects in Sea Lake, Swan Hill, Charlton, Birchip and Warracknabeal were also among the recipients.
