A DRUG and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Sunraysia should be part of a broader vision for local health care as part of a new publicly managed Mildura Base Hospital, according to Member for Mildura Ali Cupper.
Ms Cupper said Health Minister Jenny Mikakos needed to be included in the lobbying approach for funding for the centre.
“It’s important that Minister Mikakos is aware of the push for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre because within a new publicly governed system possibly we could more easily accommodate something like this,” she said.
