A MAN who was made homeless after his home burnt down is accused of the armed robbery of PJs FoodWorks this week.

Twenty-six-year-old Jimmy Downing appeared in Mildura Magistrates' Court seeking to be released on bail with his defence counsel describing the incident as a shop theft that escalated.
