POLICE on both sides of the border said they would be out in force in an effort to reduce road trauma and waterway accidents this long weekend.

Double-demerit points will apply in New South Wales until midnight Monday, while Victoria Police will target major roads leading to and from popular tourist destinations, such as Mildura.
