A HEAVILY-tinted front driver's side window has netted a Mildura driver a hefty fine.

Scott Durbridge was handed a citation on August 16, after highway patrol police members on Deakin Avenue noticed a window on his vehicle they described as "extremely dark".

He was handed a $790 infringement notice, which he contested in the Mildura Magistrates' Court on Monday.
