A MILDURA man who behaves like a "monster" when using ice has been jailed after leading police on a high speed car chase through Red Cliffs before he swam across the Murray River to avoid capture.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court heard the 33-year-old man had been wanted by police after he stalked his former partner in a persistent breach of a family violence intervention order.
