A PERSISTENT shoplifter has been jailed for 16 days after pleading guilty to 14 charges.

Thirty-two-year-old Dareton woman Nyoka Mckellar was arrested on Sunday, after a series of thefts which began on October 15.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Matt Pardon told Mildura Magistrates' Court on Wednesday that Mckellar had left eight Mildura businesses without paying for items over the course of a week.
