A MAN threatened to stab his sister's boyfriend with a pair of garden secateurs following a confrontation over the accused throwing the woman's cat into a wall, a court has been told.

Mildura Magistrates' Court heard the 22-year-old turned up at his mother's house about 6am on July 20 while intoxicated and attempted to wake his sister and her boyfriend.
