A NINE-month jail sentence has been handed to a Mildura man who falsely imprisoned and assaulted a victim on a car trip to Merbein and back.

The 31-year-old faced Mildura Magistrates' Court on Friday, pleading guilty to seven offences relating to an incident on April 1 this year.
