A CORONER has found that police had not engaged in the pursuit of a motorcyclist who died when he accelerated at speed and crashed in a Mildura street in 2020.

Deputy State Coroner Jacqui Hawkins found the action of three police members following the bike ridden by 46-year-old Irymple man Phillip Pierson had been "reasonable and appropriate" in the moments leading up to the fatal accident.
