A MILDURA man who was pulled over after speeding past a police car allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading almost four times the limit.

Police said that about 1am on Wednesday, a 29-year-old man sped by a marked police vehicle.

He was stopped and took a preliminary breath test before being taken to Mildura police station, where he returned an alleged reading of 0.199.
