THE COVID-19 pandemic is believed to be behind a statewide drop in crime, including in Mildura which has hit its lowest crime rate in 10 years.

However Mildura Superintendent Rebecca Olsen said a number of factors that dictate a more accurate and sustained drop in crime, which has not yet occurred.
