THE police air wing flew two negotiators to Mildura to talk a man down from a roof in an almost 10-hour siege.

Police said they were investigating an incident about noon on Monday in which a man ran from a Mildura property and jumped numerous fences before climbing on to a house roof.

It is alleged the man, 29, was armed with a syringe and refused to come down.
