A POLICE operation at Sunraysia post offices has resulted in a man being charged with four counts of attempting to possess cannabis.

Matthew Walding pleaded guilty before Mildura Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, appearing via videolink.

A prosecutor said a parcel from Melbourne was intercepted at Irymple Post Office on October 7 last year, addressed to the accused.

It contained 11g of cannabis.
