THE former chief executive of Mallee District Aboriginal Services is facing sexual assault charges.

Harold Rudolph Kirby appeared before Mildura Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for a first mention of the charges.

According to court documents, on April 1 this year police laid two charges against the 47-year-old.
