Rubbish service cleanly efficant

AS I heard the rubbish truck go past at 5.15am on Thursday morning, it was then I realised I’d forgot to put my general waste bin out.

Already full from two weeks of getting stuff with the detritus of life there was no way it could go a month without being emptied.

As I ran across Walnut Avenue in my pyjamas, full red bin trailing behind with the speed wobbles and hoping the other side of the street hadn’t been emptied, I was meet with disappointment.

Lids flipped and the rubbish truck working the kerb about 200 metres towards Thirteenth.

As I trudged back towards my driveway, placing the wheely bin where it should have been eight hours earlier I began working out how I’d convince Mildura Rural City Council staff and the rubbish collection people to come back later that day and help me fix my stuff up.

You can imagine my surprise when at 8.30am I opened my garage door to head to work only to find my general waste bin emptied.

As I hadn’t asked for it, yet, I can only assume the driver had come past again, seemed to notice my plight, and helped a brother out.

So thank you, Mr Rubbish Collection Dude. You totally made my day and are a credit to the community.

I deeply appreciate your helpfulness, attentiveness and professionalism in general.
