AS we head into Christmas, I want to remind our community how important it is to support the organisations that support others.
Every year, our amazing local charities and support groups step in to help families who are doing it tough. They do it quietly and without fuss, but they can’t do it without us.
These organisations work behind the scenes, giving their time, energy, and resources to help those who need it most. They do not seek recognition, they simply get on with supporting our community, ensuring people have access to food, shelter, companionship, and the little things that make a difference in someone’s life.
Christmas can bring extra pressure for many households, and these charities are often the first place people turn. A small act of generosity from any of us can make a real difference, be it individuals, families or businesses. Every effort helps lighten the load for those who rely on these services.
If you are able to help, I encourage you to do so. Placing a gift under the Kmart Wishing Tree, volunteering at the Sunassist or Salvation Army Christmas Day lunch, or donating a supermarket voucher to Mallee Accommodation and Support Program are just a few ways we can make sure everyone in our community feels included and supported this Christmas.
At its heart, Christmas is a time for giving and showing kindness. By contributing in whatever way we can, we help ensure that no one misses out and that everyone feels remembered, valued, and supported during this special time.
