Congratulations year 12 students

I WOULD like to congratulate the region’s year 12 students as they receive their VCE results.

You are to be commended on your hard work and commitment to your studies, supported by your teachers, families and friends alike.

Completing your VCE or VCAL is a major achievement.

Our local students continue to show reward for their efforts and in particular, I note the achievements of St Joseph’s College and Mildura Senior College students, with a number of students attaining ATAR scores over 90.

While we celebrate results, don’t be too disappointed if they are not what you were hoping for.

If your score is not what you’d hoped, remember that there are plenty of opportunities and pathways to get where you want to go.

You don’t need to adjust your goals, just your journey.

You’ll look back on this year – maybe now, maybe years from now – and realise that what you learned was more than English or economics.

You learned just how determined you really are. Just how strong you could be.

And that’s something to be very proud of.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. The sky is the limit!
