THE Mildura Toy Library has changed its name to encapsulate the entire region, after 40 years of operation.

The library, which is now known as the Sunraysia Toy Library, informed the community of its decision on Tuesday.

The not-for-profit association has been operating for over 40 years but had recently evolved and expanded to include more than just Mildura.

It has two locations, in Mildura and Red Cliffs, and members in more than 10 localities.

"Changing our association name to Sunraysia Toy Library helps foster inclusivity across the community, increases the sense of belonging and reduces confusion," the library said.

"Our toy library locations will still each be referred to as Mildura Campus and Red Cliffs Campus.

"While our overarching association name has changed and will take some time to roll out, our commitment to providing a quality toy lending service, supporting the healthy development of children and promoting play-based learning remains steadfast."

The Mildura campus is at Mansell Reserve and the Red Cliffs campus is next to the town's kindergarten.

The library said it could still be reached via its previous email address.
