MEMBER for Murray Helen Dalton says research into the health impacts of blue-green algal blooms is urgent as red alerts were extended on the Murray River on Thursday.

Blue-green algae warning extended to Merbein, Wentworth Ms Dalton, who was visiting the region, said the situation was already at crisis point and demanded immediate government action.
