CURRENT and former Nationals MPs could seek preselection for the federal seat of Mallee next year.

Within hours of Andrew Broad confirming he would not recontest Mallee, speculation mounted that Nationals deputy leader and Victorian Senator Bridget McKenzie could seek to replace him in the seat.
