POLICE have released an image of a man wanted over an alleged daylight assault on an elderly man in Mildura's CBD last week.

The 73-year-old male victim had been out for dinner with a 77-year-old female friend when they were accosted by a male while walking back to their car on Eighth Street about 8pm on Tuesday.
