A LOCAL author released his book Esperanza on Thursday, with the tome telling the story of his great-grandfather, who was killed in the Solomon Islands in 1880.

Vernon Knight said he had always heard the story of his great-grandfather growing up, but it was only in the past couple of years he decided to do a deep dive into his family's history.
