A "COWARD" who threw a garden light that struck his pregnant partner before he chased her around their Mildura unit has been jailed.

The Mildura Magistrates' Court was told police had responded to 16 previous family violence acts between the pair including eight since the start of this year including while there was an intervention not allowing the man within five metres of the woman.
