THE maximum any Victorian municipality can raise the total amount of money it makes from property rates without seeking special approval has been set for the 2024/25 financial year.

The decision was made by the State's Minister for Local Government Nick Staikos earlier this week as part of the Government's Fair Go Rates System branded policy with a maximum increase of 3 per cent.
