A RED alert has been issued by Water NSW for potentially toxic blue-green algae at Ellerslie in the lower Darling-Baaka River North of Mildura.

The alert is in addition to existing blue-green algae alerts in Lake Menindee around the Outer Regulator, and stretches of the Darling-Baaka river at Wilcannia - an alert that has remained in place for over three weeks since November 19.
