A CANDIDATE running in the seat of Farrer at the next Federal election Michelle Milthorpe has labelled the Commonwealth Government's proposed social media ban for Australians under the age of 16 a "quick fix" that fails to address social media misuse.

She said the policy is more about public appeasement than real protection, and ignored the roles cyber literacy and responsible digital engagement have in navigating online spaces safely.
