THE Salvation Army are set to hold a free Family Fun Day next week.
Major Debbie Serojales said it was a chance to provide members of the community with a fun event at no individual cost.
"It's our way of giving back," she said.
"We know so many people, particularly with the higher cost of living, don't always get to do fun things with their family.
"They're so supportive of us and the work we do that we just wanted to do something special in return."
A kids' zone will be on site with attractions including face painting, fairy floss, popcorn, horse riding, an inflatable sideshow alley, and a visit from EnviroEDU.
There will also be tables forming a mini-expo to inform people of services offered by The Salvation Army, including church, community support, and alcohol and drug services.
A garage sale will be open for anyone interested in purchasing furniture and other goods at a bargain price.
Major Serojales said it would be nice to show off what the charity does.
"We're proud of ourselves as an organisation," she said.
"It's good for people to know there's so much help there, and to connect with our community."
The Family Fun Day will be held at The Salvation Army Sunraysia church in Mildura on Saturday, November 9 from 10am to 1pm.
