IN what's being described as an "historic day" for local health services in the region, Mildura Base Public Hospital officially launched a new patient transport vehicle on Tuesday.

Funded by the MBPH Foundation, the $180,000 vehicle will serve the Mildura, Ouyen, Robinvale and Wentworth communities in making it easier for patients to be transported to where they need to go.
