LONG-time Sunraysia Daily journalist Allan Murphy was awarded the Rural Press Club of Victoria's title of Journalist of the Year at a gala black tie event in Bendigo on Friday evening.

Murphy, who has been with the Daily since starting as a cadet aged 19, has covered many of the region's landmark events; good, bad, and ugly without fear or favour for almost four decades.
