A TEENAGER who assaulted a "friend" with a machete in the Langtree Mall in July has been warned to be smarter about his future actions.

A Children's Court was told the 17-year-old was a daily user of cannabis and may have fallen in with the wrong company before the assault and theft of several vehicles.
