FIRE authorities are continuing to monitor two large gum trees that have been burning slowly near Wentworth since last weekend.

The trees, on Log Bridge Road, are believed to be up to 100 years old and fell to the ground during the 2015 or 2016 floods.

The fires were reported to authorities on Sunday and Wentworth Fire and Rescue has been closely monitoring the burning trees.
