WORK on an Anzac memorial garden at The Lake Primary School was started last week following the donation of a Lone Pine tree by teacher Kate Barnes.

Inspiration for the memorial came from Ms Barnes' strong family connection to World War II, as well as her links to the iconic variety of tree as her relatives were of the first to bring the variety to Australia.
