A HOT air balloon cut off electricity to 236 people in the Coomealla area on Sunday morning after colliding with powerlines outside of Buronga.

The balloon, which was operating as part of the Big Balloon Bash Mildura festival, came into contact with three powerlines as it attempted to land.
