AHEAD of Telstra's 3G network closure at the end of August, the telco is offering about 12,000 disadvantaged, elderly, and remote customers the opportunity to get a new handset for free to keep them connected.
Elderly people living in regional areas, those with a life-threatening medical condition, facing financial troubles, or recovering from a natural disaster are set to be assisted by the offer.
