A HEAD-ON collision between a truck and a Ford Ranger on Tuesday caused both lanes of the Sturt Highway to be closed at Trentham Cliffs for several hours.
NSW Police said the crash occurred at about 3.45pm, causing a truck fire which was extinguished by onlookers.
The 30-year-old male driver of the Ford was freed by emergency services and was able to walk to an ambulance to be taken to Mildura Base Public Hospital.
Police enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
