FIGURES promoted by Mallee MP Anne Webster to argue against the government’s new-vehicle efficiency standard were “very selective and absurd”, a technology expert says.

In a media release and newspaper column, Dr Webster cited projections by lobby group the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries about the policy’s impact on car prices.
