HOUSEHOLDS are continuing to feel the pinch of rising costs, with new data finding more than $400 a week on average is spent on car-related costs.

The latest Australian Automobile Association Transport Affordability Index found that over the course of last year, typical household transport costs rose by 13 per cent, more than tripling than the Consumer Price Index increase of 4.1 per cent.
