A LOLLIPOP lady who has worked in the Mildura community for 37 years says children she once helped cross the road are now bringing their own kids to school.

Judy McPhee, who has helped keep local students safe for almost four decades, said her love of working with children and keeping people safe had kept her working for so long.

School crossings were introduced in Victoria after World War II.
