ELEVEN fire crews responded to a grass and scrub fire at a Belar Avenue fruit block in Irymple on Sunday afternoon.
CFA and RFS Units from Irymple, Merbein, Red Cliffs, Mildura and Gol Gol were called to action at 3:06pm.
"The fire was in vines covering an area approximately 4-5 hectares in size," a CFA spokesperson said.
"The incident was deemed under control at around 3:45pm and declared safe by 4:51pm."
In an online post, the Merbein Fire Brigade said that the job threw up a few curve balls, but nothing they couldn't handle.
