MILDURA'S firefighters Movember moustaches vary wildly in size, style and substance.

Station officer Chris Bethell said it was a "good cause with a bit of fun watching the different styles of moustaches taking shape".

However, he said some grew in "better than others".

Mr Bethell said the fire station also had a 16m moustache painted onto the front doors, as well as moustaches on the fire trucks.

The "Mildura Firies" team, made up of local Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters, raised $10,355 for Movember last year and has set an ambitious target to this year raise $11,000 for men's health initiatives.

Mr Bethell hope the public would support their efforts.

"We would love to get more public support to raise funds and donations can be made at the 'Mildura Firies' Movember page," he said.

Mildura's CDC Buses have also continued their annual campaign this year, placing moustaches on the front of the buses.
