BALLARAT has taken home gold at the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards, beating Mildura and six other towns.

The 2023 Victorian Top Tourism Town award winners were announced on Wednesday night.

Earlier in the year, Mildura was announced as a finalist for the population over 5000 category, but was defeated by the state's third-largest city.
