THE mercury reached an unseasonably high 25.4 degrees over the weekend, as Mildura marked a warmer start to winter than normal - but rain is on the way.

Saturday's temperature equalled the previous June temperature record in Mildura, when 25.4 degrees was recorded on June 5, 1998.
