EVERYONE loves a fire on a cold day, but people looking for wood this winter are being urged to be on the lookout for illegal dealers and to ensure they source their timber ethically.

The Conservation Regulator and Parks Victoria cited the Murray river corridor as one of the worst-hit areas for stolen timber which quite often gets sold on to unsuspecting customers.
