A COLLECTION of tree canopies will soon decorate Mildura's retail precinct.

Staff working on the Mildura CBD Urban Regener8 project planted the 54th of 500 trees this week.

The $450,000 project includes $300,000 from the Victorian Government's Regional Infrastructure Fund, and $150,000 from Mildura Rural City Council.
