DESPITE no monetary contribution from the AFL, signs have been encouraging for the Sunraysia Football & Netball League in the lead-up to the opening round on Saturday.

SFNL president Paul Matheson highlighted the amount of former AFL talent that had made its way to the league as a big driver for the league moving forward.
